Crisis Food Distribution

Metropolitan Ministries

As an outreach of Metropolitan Ministries, Joining Hands distributes crisis food boxes, with additional food distributed from another north Pasco site. Each food box provides enough provisions to feed a family of four for three days. Our volunteers serve as “personal shoppers” to assist recipients when they make their selections at our Metro Market.

SHARE Florida Food Network

Share Florida Food Network

SHARE provides savings on high quality food through high-volume buying, while encouraging personal involvement in the community. There are no income requirements to participate, just a desire to make a positive difference in the world by using volunteer hours to qualify.

Sunday Worship Services

Joining Hands Community Mission is affiliated with the United Methodist Church. We have a beautiful sanctuary that provides a place for inspiring, authentic worship that pulsates with the heart of God. Asbury United Methodist Church of New Port Richey currently holds their contemporary worship service at JHCM on Sunday mornings.

Joining Hands Kids Camp Every Summer

It's every kid's summer dream to be part of a fun, memorable day camp experience, but it's not always possible for each child. Joining Hands Kids Camp is helping to make this dream a reality for children whose families are experiencing homelessness or financial hardships.

Children in kindergarten through 5th grade are invited to attend a week-long, full-day summer camp every year. This free event is hosted by numerous churches and service organizations, in partnership with Joining Hands Community Mission and Metropolitan Ministries. Up to 110 children come to camp, held on the campus of Joining Hands Community Mission, 3214 U.S. Highway 19 in Holiday, Florida.

Morning arrivals start at 8:00 am with afternoon pickup at 5:00 pm. Each day, campers receive a healthy breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Volunteers present various learning activities including singing, drama, arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor physical activities, as well as many special events. In addition, at the end of the week, all campers receive a new pair of shoes and a back-to-school backpack filled with all of the necessary supplies to help kick-off their new school year.
